For those of you who may not be familiar with me, my name is Matthew Gagnon, and I am a political, communications and new media analyst currently living in Washington, D.C. I work at New Media Strategies, where I work with a variety of political and corporate clients, helping them with their new media communications strategy.

I am originally from Maine, growing up in Hampden and studying Political Science at the University of Maine. In 2004, I ran for the Maine House of Representatives, something that taught me a great deal about the political process.

Since leaving Maine, I have started Pine Tree Politics, which has quickly become one of the most popular and influential political news and analysis sites for the state of Maine. I also am a regular contributor for The Next Right and other conservative and libertarian blogs.
